Hello from Nagoya, the chicken wing capitol of Japan! I had some last night at Yamachen ( not sure how it's spelled ), and I am going back tonight. They are the ugliest tastiest wings I have ever had. Anyway, speaking of wings.....
Yes, we made a Winger record a few months ago, and I felt terrible that I couldn't tell you all about it, as with past records. I remember reading on the forum when one person said " Reb always tells us what's up" and I was like " Gulp." We were asked by our lawyer not to say anything on the internet until the contracts were signed, which took some time.
I am getting letters already asking if I am leaving Whitesnake. I am sure most of you know that " no" is the answer to that question. If Winger tours it will only be for a few weeks here and there when all of our schedules permit it. Winger is not the type of band that goes out for a a long time, because we all do other things. Like the Mob, we will also have to see if it sells well enough for someone to sponsor a tour.
Kip is finishing it now. Frontiers posted a quote from me on melodicrock.com that was just taken from a personal letter that I wrote to the president of the label. It's true, though, it was great to go back to the drawing board after 13 years. This time, Kip really had a vision, and I felt honored to help him realize it. Some of the stuff is just insane, and way beyond my ability as a writer. I love how my guitar playing and his voice just sound like Winger all of the sudden. I am usually there to give my input on the melodies, so I am anxious to hear what he comes up with. I'll post more when I can. I have to go to soundcheck. Talk to ya'll soon..
